"Sustainability is at the core of who we are and what we do," noted Herb Henkel, Chairman and CEO. "Energy efficiency - with its large social, economic, and environmental implications - is a benefit tied to many of our products, services, and our own operations. Each time we help customers reduce their energy demands, we are creating a positive ripple effect that results in reduced greenhouse gas emissions, a cleaner environment, and cost savings over the long term."
Ingersoll Rand does not view sustainability as a one dimensional issue where companies simply report out what they are doing about the environment and sustainability. Instead, the company recognizes that sustainability is multi-dimensional, touching virtually every aspect of its businesses and requiring a long term enterprise commitment. Ingersoll Rand believes that enabling customers to learn more about sustainability is important, but empowering customers and stakeholders to make sustainable decisions is critical.
Henkel concluded, "Looking forward, we will continue to apply our expertise and knowledge to remain a world leader in creating and sustaining safe, comfortable, and efficient environments where we all work, live, and play. We will continue to drive innovation in goods and services that will help us maintain this leadership position, improve our internal productivity and energy efficiency, and increase our global reach."
